For Non-Native English Speakers

This is an eight-hour program. Meetings held at the Whittaker Group Brookline offices.
Specifics include:
  • Screening of communication strengths and challenges with a verbal report
  • Two weekly, one-hour sessions, or one, two-hour session for four weeks
  • Subscription to the Rules by the Sound online pronunciation platform + customized handouts or other materials recommended by the trainer
  • Weekday or Saturday appointments only
  • Pre-payment in full is required
  • All sessions must be completed within a month from the initiation date. No make-ups for missed sessions, refunds or extensions permitted; Sessions may be rescheduled with 48-hours advanced notice


Comprehensive (+)

For Non-Native English Speakers

This is a 16-hour program. Meetings held at the Whittaker Group offices in Brookline, or remotely via Skype.
Specifics include:
  • One-hour private assessment session, including a detailed written report of communication strengths and challenges
  • Weekly, 1.5 hour training sessions for 10-weeks
  • Unlimited subscription to the Rules by the Sound online pronunciation platform; Rules workbook or ebook + audio; Rules by the Sound workbook or ebook + audio; Rules on the Run worksheet; customized handouts and resources or other materials recommended by the trainer
  • Daytime, weekend, or evening hours available
  • All sessions must be completed within six- months from the initiation date
  • No make-ups for missed appointments, refunds or extensions permitted; Sessions may be rescheduled with 48-hours advanced notice.


Premium (+)

For Non-Native English Speakers

This is a 20-hour program. Meetings held on-site at your workplace, at the Whittaker Group offices in Brookline, or remotely via Skype.
Specifics include:
  • One-hour private initial assessment session, including a detailed written report of communication strengths and challenges
  • One, 1.5 hour, private weekly session for 12-weeks
  • Interim written progress report summary; optional phone or in-person meeting with management upon request
  • One-hour private final re-evaluation session, including a detailed written report of progress and future recommendations
  • Certificate of Completion for personnel files
  • Unlimited subscription to the Rules by the Sound online pronunciation platform; Rules workbook or ebook + audio; Rules by the Sound workbook or ebook + audio; Rules on the Run worksheet; customized handouts and resources or other materials deemed appropriate by the trainer

Accent Modification & Communication Training For Healthcare Professionals (+)

For Non-Native English Speakers

All healthcare professionals should speak with clarity, effectiveness, credibility, confidence and compassion. However, some nonnative English speaking medical professionals with technical expertise may be challenged by key communication rules that guide mainstream English pronunciation and communication. Are you frustrated when people don’t understand if you said, “can vs. can’t?” Does it bother you when your dictations are returned saying 15 (fifteen) mg. vs. 50 (fifty) mg.? In the real world, we get bogged down with an overloaded inbox, our messages go unread and unanswered, and we struggle to effectively communicate in writing. In today’s competitive workplace, written documentation must positively reflect professionalism and credibility. Excellent written communication can improve a firm’s reputation with valued partners and customers, increase staff efficiency, and enhance the likelihood of garnering future referrals for business. Prior to the first class, participants are required to submit 5 sample E-mails. Participants will receive a comprehensive packet of writing guidelines to use for future reference.

American Culture & Social Communication Training (+)

For Intermediate to Advanced Non-Native English Speakers

Many non-native English speakers are shy about communicating with other native and non-native English speakers. However, listening and talking are some of the best ways to improve your English proficiency and fluency. Guided conversations can reinforce new vocabulary, help speakers understand and use situationally relevant figurative expressions and slang, use and respond to socially appropriate humor, improve fluency, enhance pronunciation, and foster confidence. If you have limited opportunities to practice your English skills at home or at work, and are looking for a relaxed and constructively supportive atmosphere to fine-tune your communication skills, please join us! In our upcoming intensive Spring Session beginning on April 2, you will learn how to:

  1. Prepare conversational topics ahead of time by exploring newspapers, magazines, TV, and the internet for topics of interest such as politics, business, movies, science, fashion, etc.
